Best Practices
Fun Ideas...
- Short and Sweet: Don’t force long sessions! Practice a little before dinner and a little after dinner. Studies show that short bursts of practice can be better than one long session.
- Party Time: Invite a friend over to practice with you (any instrument works).
- Living Room Concert: Set up a stage in your living room and perform for family or friends live!
- Long Distance Concert: Host a call between you and someone who lives far away and let them listen to you practice for them over the phone.
- Betcha: Make it a game! Bet a friend that he/she can perform a certain section 5 times in a row perfectly, then see if they can do it.
- YouTube: Find a YouTube tutorial of your favorite song for their instrument! Most pop songs are actually pretty easy to learn.
- Gift of Music: Record a video concert to send to Ms. Brumbaugh or even your homeroom teacher.
- Paparazzi: Take pictures of practice time for Ms. Brumbaugh to post on the “band hall of fame.”
